* Notes; Henry FRY’s father, Joseph FRY (1728 – 1787), was a type-founder and chocolate maker in Bristol. After Joseph’s death, his widow, Anna, and youngest son, Joseph Storrs FRY, continued the chocolate making business, while Henry and another son, Edmund, continued in the type-foundry business. The Quakers around Shoreditch webpage gives quite a detailed summery of the FRY family line, from Joseph FRY, down to Lucy Elizabeth FRY.

ELLIOTT ancestors – Feb2017version

I have details going back a further 9 generations in the FRY line, originating around Sutton Benger, in Wiltshire (although as you go back there are several differing versions of the FRY family tree). Joseph FRY’s mother, Mary STORRS, also came from a well recorded Quaker family; the STORRS of Chesterfield, Derbyshire, and previously from Sutton-cum-Lound, Nottinghamshire. (See the STORRS family tree, image below, from a book titled “The Storrs family; Genealogical and other Memoranda”, by Charles Storrs, published in New York, in 1886). I also have details going back 6 further generations in the CLARENCE line.
