SWAIN family

I have just been looking through some new notes written by a great-uncle, David Swain, about his research into the SWAIN family. As a result I’ve made some amendments and additions to my original post about the SWAIN family genealogy.

David has written down some personal memories about the family, and has looked into the old censuses and other records. From about the 1870’s the direct Swain family settled in Leicester, where a number of them worked in the shoe and boot making industry. Earlier generations appear to have had connections to the Stafford and Worcester area.

I will try to see if David would be happy to have the information he’s compiled about the family, posted up on this website for others to find.
